Do you have child that is getting ready to start school? Or a child that has a hard time getting ready for school in the mornings?

This printable social skills story goes through the morning routine of getting ready for school. Each page gives a step in getting ready for a school day including brushing teeth, checking the weather to find appropriate clothes, getting dressed, packing your backpack and more. Young children will need reminders of a new routine and these fun pictures and simple sentences are great for teaching before the school year starts and reminding and creating independence throughout the year.

Also included is a morning routine checklist with pictures that correspond to the social story. Children can use both. The story could be read before the school year begins and then throughout the year when reminders are needed. The checklist is perfect to hang up by the door for an interactive way to check if you completed all of the " getting ready" steps before you leave for school.

What is included:

- One color version and one B&W versions of the " Getting Ready for School" social skills story going through the morning routine

- a 1 page morning routine checklist with corresponding pictures.

Prep is easy, cut the pages, staple them together in any order that makes sense to your child and family. I recommend laminating the Getting Ready Checklist or using a page protector to be able to use it over and over again.

If you are interested in a more customized social skills story, on a different topic or with your child's name, clipart that include your child's features or pages that are specific to your routine, please email me at Playlearncreate@outlook.com to get started on a custom story. Custom stories are also great for new events coming up in children's lives or to explore expectations in other situations.
