Recycling Board Game and Lesson for Preschool, PreK and Kindergarten

This printable Recycling Board Game helps children learn about and understand recycling. It also works on math, counting, colors and cooperative play!

It is a great game for Earth Day or a recycling theme. 

Purpose: Each player takes a turn and picks and sorts a card from the materials pile that is appropriate for the color that they land on. The goal is to cooperatively get as many objects/ materials as possible into recycling bins before all the players get to the end of the gameboard and then the recycling materials will have to go to…. THE DUMP!

How to play: The first player rolls and goes that many spaces on the gameboard. What color do they land on?

-If they land on Red, they will find an object from the materials pile that would go in the Red Plastics Recycling Bin and put it in the bin on the right side of the gameboard.

-If they land on yellow, they find a card from the materials pile that would go in the Yellow Paper Recycling Bin and put it in the yellow bin on the right side of the gameboard.

-If they land on green, they find a card/object from the materials pile that would go in the Green Organic Material Recycling Bin and put the card in the green bin on the right side of the gameboard.

-If they land on blue, they find a card/object from the materials board that would go in the Blue Glass Recycling Bin and they put that card in the blue recycling bin on the right side of the gameboard.

Keep going until all of the materials have been sorted or if all players reach THE DUMP!
